Living in a developing country where access to equal opportunities and basic needs is often denied perpetuates inequality and hinders progress. The majority of the population strives to work and find multiple jobs but still struggles to make ends meet due to the low income they have to bear. The farmers from Tartaria Silang, Cavite, are one of the many unfortunate Filipinos to experience such miserable lives. We are known for being resilient; it’s what gives us strength to withstand difficulties. Thus, the resilience that we entail in our blood emphasizes our warm support for those who are in dire need.  Have you ever wondered how the role of food shapes our culture in today’s globalized world? Food is like a trademark of one’s culture—where they create their own identity to be recognized and distinguished. In the Philippines, there are a variety of foods that describe solely the place or the province where they originated. It’s like when we think of a place, it’s the food that we mostly remember. However, when we look for a certain food that describes us as a whole, there is not much that will show up. Perhaps because of the influence of globalization, which allows us to merge different cuisines, ingredients, and cooking techniques across the world, creating new opportunities for innovation and cultural representation.
